I had that exact same c ar , same year/color/everything! Had it over 3 years, which is about the longest I've owned any car.

How is it? How is the top functionality? Have you driven any older Miatas to compare the road noise to?

I never liked the subtle change on styling the PRHT incurred - always looked like it was wearing shoulder pads.
Also, the PRHT seemed claustrophobic compared to my old softtop NC , but I’m sure it’s easy to get used to. The top operation is really slick, but as easy as the softtop is to put down, the only reason I’d want the PRHT is for the added security.

I had an NA but not back to back so it’s hard for me to compare, I didn’t mind it though, it is what it is, it’s not a grand tourer by any means. Top was great, goes pretty quickly and never had any issues with mine, I owned it from about 30k to around 80k, only downside is you have to be completely stopped for it to work although there’s a chip of some sort for that, never bothered me enough to do it though. I liked it a lot when I lived in Denver but once we moved back to Chicago it became purely a commuter as there aren’t really any fun roads around that I’ve found, so I grew to hate it pretty quickly. I’m 6'2" and 240 so it was a huge compromise for me as a daily and without the fun stuff to balance it out it got shuffled along pretty quickly.

Ahh. I’m 5'6" and had a 2002 Special Edition with a hardtop on it for about two years before it got totaled. Had a ton of little touches and some suspension stuff done. Hardtop was bolted on to make it as coupelike as possible. I absolutely loved that car. I did find myself wishing I could spontaneously disappear the hardtop some times. Did several 1000+ mile road trips in that car with no problem with my wife and our stuff.

Sounds like a much better car for you than me then lol, and the NC still has a pretty good mod scene if you want more rigidity or something, and I liked the more modern conven iences personally. I had ordered an ND before they came out but it kept getting delayed and I got this instead at a nice price, it was nice going back to hydraulic steering after a few cars with electric.

All they need in my mind is a 2" drop and some slightly wider wheels.

I had Mazdaspeed springs on mine, but stock wheels with a slightly wider tire.
